For Windows 7 users, when uninstalling the ZoneAlarm firewall, for whatever reason, you may encounter some problems completing the uninstall process. For example, your computer may begin to restart unexpectedly, unless you are in safe mode. Completely uninstall ZoneAlarm using one of the removal tools listed here.
Remove ZoneAlarm With The ZoneAlarm Removal Tool
One option to safely and completely remove ZoneAlarm from your Windows 7 system, is to download and run the free ZoneAlarm Removal Tool.

Save to desktop, right click and "run as administrator" This tool will remove all ZoneAlarm products from your system.
Please just download and run the tool, following the instructions. (you can un-install without net connections)

The ZoneAlarm Removal Tool may require you to restart your computer after it runs, to complete the uninstall.
Remove ZoneAlarm With Revo Uninstaller
If the ZoneAlarm Removal Tool does not work for you, then another option to totally uninstall the ZoneAlarm firewall from a Windows 7 computer, is to download and run the free portable version of Revo Uninstaller.

The link above will download the portable version of Revo Uninstaller as a ".zip" file. Just copy the contents of the ".zip" file to any location you like (i.e. your desktop, a USB drive, etc.), and run the program from there.
In Revo Uninstaller, choose to uninstall ZoneAlarm, and follow the instructions on the screen to completely remove ZoneAlarm.

I have windows 7, and I’m failing to uninstall ZA, using its own uninstaller, Revo uninstaller and the removal tool.
How about uninstalling in safe mode? It seems to have worked for some.

I uninstalled but after can’t get online something is corrupted. Is there some other way to fix this? Can’t grab the removal tool bc I can’t get online
Maybe you’ve already tried or thought of this, but maybe you can download the ZA removal tool from another computer, then transfer to your corrupted computer with a USB drive, then run it. Like the user in this support thread:

Or another suggestion if that doesn’t work, is download the ZoneAlarm setup file & removal tool from another computer, then transfer to your corrupted computer with a USB drive. Re-install ZA to see if you can at least get online. Then run the removal tool to try uninstall again when ready.
Those are just a couple things I’d try myself, based on your comment.
Why not just lump Checkpoint in with Norton as someone that holds customers hostage to forcw them into buying and keeping their products. I like zone Alarm but this is too much to tolerate. Shame on you checkpoint!!
Windows Explorer was suspended after changing some ZA Security Suite settings. Went into safe mode to make changes….no option. Tried to uninstall in safe mode. Wouldn’t let me…said couldn’t be uninstalled in safe mode. Of course couldn’t get in to Windows to uninstall either! Tried System Restore—nope. Went back to safe mode. Deleted all instances of vsmon in registry. This allowed me to get into Windows and uninstall ZA…and get back online to search for new firewall/AV software. Sticky booger…
